Who Collects My Garbage?

Each individual property owner is responsible for the disposal of their garbage and refuse. There are several contract haulers in the area including ASDA Enterprises of Burlington, Advanced Disposal of Fort Atkinson, and Waste Management of Franklin. The Town provides a recycling area at Buddy Short Salvage and Recycling, W1765 State Road 11. The recycling area will open during the regular hours of operation of Buddy Short Salvage (7 a.m. to 4 p.m. M-F and 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays). Tires will be accepted, but there will be a fee for disposal.

Where Do I Vote?

Residents of the Town of Spring Prairie vote at the Town Hall, N6097 State Road 120. Poll hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on designated Election Days (see Election Information page). Absentee ballots maybe requested in writing or in person from the Town Clerk. (See above)

Where Do I Pay My Taxes?

Property taxes can be paid in person or by mail to the Town Clerk-Treasurer until January 31 of any year. After that date all taxes must be paid to the Walworth County Treasurer by mail or in person at the Government Center in Elkhorn. A schedule of hours for tax collection at the Town Hall will be included with your tax bill.
